The 15th Momorial tournament "Luka Marin"
The rugby players of Vojvodina will once again mark the Memorial in honor of their tragically deceased member and friend Luka Marin. For the second year in a row as part of the beach rugby tournament. We are very touched and proud of the people of Novi Sad who hold on to tradition and the memory of a friend. The tournament will be international because the Arsenal team from Tivat took part.
General information
If you want to have fun and enjoy the tournament, we have tried to give you some general information so that you are ready for the tournament. The tournament is played in Novi Sad, on Strand, specifically on the volleyball courts, next to the Orkus cafe.
Just to note for all viewers, the Strand is not pet friendly, so do not plan to come with pets, to avoid inconvenience. The tournament starts at 11:00 a.m. You can find the complete timetable a little further down in the text. A very warm day is expected, so we recommend that you don’t dress in layers, that you always have a refreshing drink with you, a hat and sunglasses. You can refresh yourself at the Orkus cafe at any time. But we strongly recommend that you buy a ticket for the raffle that will take place at 8 pm, because with the ticket you get a free drink. You increase your chance of winning by drinking! You can also order burgers at any time, so you’re satisfied when it comes to food, rugby and a great time.
Participating teams, competition system and schedule
A total of ten teams took part in the tournament. Ten teams will be divided into two groups of five. In each group, everyone plays against each other. When the group competition is completed, the placement matches are played. The first-placed teams in each group play for 1. place, runners-up for 3. place, and so on. The match is played every 15 minutes.

The rugby competition will not be the only competition! At 7:00 p.m., the beer-drinking competition will start, where Rajko Janković jealously defends the throne Through insider work, we found out that at least three people are actively preparing to take the title from him. At 8:00 p.m., the RC Vojvodina raffle awaits us with valuable prizes.
Competition rules
The sand tournament will be played according to the following rules:
- The team consists of ten players.
- Five on five players play on the field.
- The half-time lasts five minutes, and the whole game lasts ten.
- One try is one point.
- The number of attacks is unlimited.
- If a player is knocked down with the ball in his hands, the ball changes possession.
- If a player is kept on his feet with the ball in hand for more than 2 seconds, the ball changes possession.
- A player has 2 seconds to throw the pass off the ground after being tackled if it is not held.
- The out is executed as a quick out with a backward pass.
- There are no crabs, outs, scrums and shots.
- The defending team after a tackle retreats 2 meters to the offside line.
- All other ambiguities, changes, additions will be clarified on the spot.
