Dinamo defeated Torpedo in the derby match of the second round of the Serbian Championship with a score of 39-7. We would dare to say that the score is a shade higher than what we could see on the field. Before the match, we expected a more even game and result, but from the very beginning Pančevci controlled the game and the result, and made it clear that they came out on the grass of the City Stadium to win with a bonus point. Which in the end they achieved.
Torpedo came to Pancevo to compete, they played bravely and firmly. But they respected the opponent too much. If they had played a shade more cheekily, who knows what the result would have been in the end. Petrovčani have a lot of personnel problems this year, where they are without several standard first-team players. However, the team was strengthened with Uroš Martinović and several young players from Dorćol, who performed excellently.
Dinamo was calm in the first part of the match

Right at the start of the match, Dinamo made it clear that they would be deadly. They had a scrum inside their 22 meters, the ball quickly went out to Bojan Nešić who took a good five meters in a crashball action. After that, Strahinja Adžić shifted the action to the wing, where Ivan Voštić took some additional ten meters. The ball was returned to the center again, where referee Radulović judges the penalty against Torpedo. Milan Kuzmanović doesn’t wait for anything, quickly executes the penalty and dictates a high tempo and sends the ball to the wing where the excellent Vanja Cvetanović wins ten meters. From the ruck, the ball comes to Ivan Voštić, who finds a hole in the defense and one-on-one feints the opponent’s defender and scores an try. Kuzmanović is confident in the transformation for 7-0.
In those moments, Torpedo managed to shift the center of the game to the middle of the field. But in 23th minute of the game, a new murderous action of Dinamo was seen. First, Pančevci received a penalty about ten meters from the opponent’s goal. The ball is quickly moved to the line which creates a phase next to the scrum. Another phase is then created, so that, believe it or not, Ognjen Voštić, the home team’s demi, scored an try with a pick and go action. Kuzmanović is accurate again for 14-0.
We can’t say that Torpedo didn’t attack, they put a lot of pressure on Dinamo’s defense, but they lacked the final move. That’s how Stefan Janković pulled strongly from the scrum and employed Predrag Stanojlović, who was pushed out by the defense. Then Dinamo started one of the best actions of the match. First, Mihailo Marjanović deflected the ball with his fingertips towards scrumhalf Ognjen Voštić. After the shot, the ball bounces awkwardly somewhere in the middle of the field and goes directly into the arms of Bojan Nešić, who forms a ruck. After three phases, the ball grinds its direction and reaches Stefan Dramićanin, who throws an offload to David Pal, who wins about twenty meters and passes another offload to Vukašin Vasić, who saves the ball and forms a ruck. Then another phase is formed inside Torpedo’s 22 meters, where a quick ball comes to Milan Kuzmanović who passes to Ivan Voštić, who again quickly passes to Adžić, who eventually resolves the two-on-one situation and assists Cvetanović for the try. Dinamo has 19 points on its account.
Towards the end of the half, Torpedo moved more aggressively towards Dinamo’s try. After several successful phases, Petrovčani received a penalty in the middle, right in the opponent’s 22 meters. The ball is taken by Uroš Martinović, who wins ten meters with a strong penetration. Then Janković opens to Miloš Vujčić, who is stopped in front of the try. Then followed Jovan Kostić’s pick and go in one phase, which Dinamo players managed to stop. But they failed to stop Martinović who scores an try. Marko Živković hits a shot and completes the activities from the first part of the match with the score 19-7 for Dinamo.
Dinamo maintained a high level in the second part of the match
Towards the end of the first half, Milan Kuzmanović, the captain of the Dinamo team, received a yellow card. We were just expecting Torpedo to take advantage of that opportunity and attack more aggressively. But that didn’t happen. Dinamo introduced fresh blood into the game, we think of Luka Jojić and Dejan Krkljuš above all. And it immediately gave results. First, Dinamo had an attack that was stopped by a penalty around the 22-meter center line. The boars decided for a safe 3 points from the penalty realized by Ivan Voštić.

Immediately after Torpedo’s shot from the center, the ball is caught by Miljan Nikolić, who makes an excellent pass to the center of the training ground. Milićević then opens the ball to Adžić, who is excellent to this day, who passes to Cvetanović, who enters the line from the second plan. Cvetanović then passes to Bojan Nešić, who perfectly plays a two-on-one situation and passes the ball to Dejan Krkljuš in a full run, who had no difficulty finishing the action with an try. Honestly, there aren’t many players in Serbia who could stop Krkljuš in a full run. Ivan Voštić is confident in his transformation, so that in 44th minute the score was 29-7.
It was hard to expect that Torpedo would be able to make a turnaround, but they were far from giving up. They were motivated to score one more time. At that time, Uroš Martinović and Aleksa Dobrosavljević, who switched to playing stopper due to injuries, pulled the most poles. Dobrosavljević had several outstanding breakthroughs where he took about twenty meters each, but was stopped by the today great defensive line of Dinamo.
And in 65th minute of the match was followed by one of Dinamo’s better actions. Pančevci won the out just inside the opponent’s 22 meters. A break was formed from which Stefan Dramićanin stood out and won an additional ten meters. Then the ball is quickly opened to Adžić, who immediately passes the pass to Nešić, who pulls several Torpedo players on him, then passes to Cvetanović, who assists Krkljuš, who scores his second try of the match.
Already in 68th minute of the match, the referee played a scrum for Torpedo, Aleksa Dobrosavljević picked up the ball like a cork and started to penetrate, but he had no support. The referee is judging a penalty against Torpedo in those moments. Some Torpedo players stay to argue with the referee, some came over to hear what was going on, and some just stood around the referee. That was used by Milan Kuzmanović who quickly executed the penalty, he didn’t have too many opponents in front of him, then he passed to Cvetanović who scored an try for the final 39-7. There wasn’t much excitement worth mentioning until the end of the match.

Dinamo and Torpedo did well in signing players
Although only two rounds have passed, we have to point out that both teams absolutely hit with reinforcements. If you want your team to progress and be better, you must first detect the weak points and then start to eliminate them. It does not necessarily mean that you will manage to solve all the problems, that is, new ones will always open up. The most important thing is to engage with the team, over and over again.
When we look at Dinamo, the biggest problem of the previous season was the scrum, more precisely the first line. We had matches where the first line was played by players who were born in the 70s. To make matters even more complicated, it is very difficult to find quality first-line players in Serbia. And if you want a strong team, you must have all 6 players of the first line in the team, with all changes. The people of Pančević set out to solve that problem. They took the props of BRK Crvena Zvezda, Ivan Rodić and Luka Jojić on license. The main task of which is to stabilize the scrum. And they succeeded in that. The scrum is stabilized, which we saw against Torpedo. Also from Zvezda came Miljan Nikolić, who is a very breakthrough player. His natural position is the third line, but if necessary, he can play very well in the post. And finally, we must not forget Milan Milićević, whose experience is very useful for a young team like Dinamo. Although Milan is galloping towards the middle of its fifth decade, the game demonstrated how to play rugby. He was excellent on the wing, and if necessary he even played on the wing, where he forced a high tempo.
Torpedo also stepped up really well. He brought in the BRK Crvena Zvezda player Uroš Martinović, who plays in the post position. Uroš is a serbia national team player who is in his best playing years, which he shows on the field. From RK Dorćol in 1998, on license, there is Ivan Popović, who plays in the position of the second and third lines. There are also three other players from Dorćol who were exceptional in the game. Ivan Nikolić, Matija Nedeljković and Andrej Šušak left a great impression on us. This kind of Torpedo team, when it is not affected by injuries, can do a lot.

Duo Cvetanović-Nešić is the killer needle of the Dinamo line
We must point out that we were positively surprised by the play of Vanja Cvetanović and Bojan Nešić and the way they complement each other in the game. Cvetanović positions himself fantastically and moves without the ball, which puts him in a better position in the organization of the attack. Such an overview of the game allows him to almost perfectly anticipate the moves of his teammates where he is very lethal in the follow-up. He is strong in contact, has excellent technique. Schooled player. Nešić is the true definition of a modern second center, who adores the crèche of situations where his physique and fitness come to the fore. It has a great overview of the game.

Now imagine when Strahinja Adžić plays a fast ball, when Milan Kuzmanović and Ivan Voštić create, when Nešić and Cvetanović follow everything, and when Košpić, Krkljuš or Milićević finish the action. Well, that’s not easy to defend. Not easy at all.
How to use the pace of Aleksa Dobrosavljević
You can have the most lethal weapons, but it’s useless if you don’t know how to use them. That is why the potential of Dobrosavljević should be used to the maximum, and the potential is huge. You won’t often see a player of that size, speed and explosiveness. And that should be used to the maximum. If Aleksa gets the ball and makes a 30-meter breakthrough and there is no support, he loses the ball. It is necessary to form a support that would get an offload from Alexa in one of these attacks, or they would quickly clear the crab and get a fast ball without the opponent setting up a defense in time. It has to be played fast, it has to be played at a high tempo.
Discipline
We missed our regular match report section. And we have no intention of removing it until the general discipline of our clubs and players is improved. And the way things are going, it looks like we won’t be putting it away for a long time. Of course, we will not name the players directly, because our goal is not to look for culprits, but to offer a solution to every problem. Whoever wants to work on solving problems, he will somehow solve them in the end, if you don’t want to work on solving such things, it can get worse and worse.
As far as we are concerned, what is one of the biggest problems is discipline in the game in a situation where the referee calls a penalty against you. When you’re at the market, for example, and two grandmothers are arguing, then it’s somewhat okay to go over and see what they’re arguing about if you’re really interested. However, if you are a player in a rugby match and if the referee calls a penalty against you, your job is to position yourself in the defensive line 10 meters from the offense as soon as possible and thus neutralize a possible quick penalty by the opponent. And if your teammate is arguing with the referee, you should never go over and listen to what they are saying.
If you train rugby and if you are proud of rugby, you must also respect rugby values. You are definitely not behaving in accordance with the values that rugby propagates, if you argue non-stop with the referee, your teammates, with yourself, with the institutions of rugby, then you will end up with two yellow cards (automatic red) leaving your team in the lurch. . Only the captain talks to the referee, both directly and indirectly, and that’s what rugby is all about. Even the captain has to keep the conversation level. Not clear to you? Watch a bit of international rugby.
