End of spring competitive activities
During the weekend, all the official competitions that are planned to take place this half-season will be completed and thus the spring part of the season will be officially completed. Technically, maybe not even, because we are also expecting the Rugby 7 European Championship for U18 juniors, which will be held in mid-July in Poland. Barring that, all competitive activities will be completed this weekend.
Rugby weekend at Banjica
It will be very interesting this weekend. We don’t usually write announcement articles for domestic competitions, except when it comes to derby matches or finals, however, we decided to write an article this time because it will be quite interesting and in a great environment. What we like the most as a newsroom is when an excellent organization is created at domestic tournaments where you have everything you need and where you will want to spend your free time.
Schedule of tournaments and activities
The rugby weekend starts on Saturday with the final tournament of the U14s. The tournament will start at 11:00 a.m. on the rugby field of the Kralj Petar Prvi stadium. It is the fourth tournament in a row this season, where five teams are expected to participate. In addition to the hosts RK Rad, the tournament will also feature BRK Crvena Zvezda, RK Dinamo 1954, RK Dorćol 1998 and RK Žarkovo. The matches will be played on two courts, so the competition is expected to last no more than two hours. After the tournament, there will be an announcement and awarding of cups and medals to the best teams. The final tournament is also played in the U18 junior competition. It will be played on the auxiliary grass field of the stadium, which is located right next to the rugby field. The tournament is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. That is, when the pioneers are finished, you just switch to the juniors on the field next to it. We expect the participation of four or five teams in the tournament. Also, after this tournament, the best will be announced and medals will be awarded.
On Sunday, the last tournament of the Serbian Championship in Rugby 7 is scheduled, where we expect the participation of five teams: RK Rad, BRK Crvena Zvezda, RK Dinamo 1954, RK Kruševac and RK Vojvodina. The tournament is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Like the juniors, the seniors will play their matches on the auxiliary grass field within the stadium. After the week’s tournament, an end-of-season exhibition match for all rugby fans will be played on the rugby field. Anyone who wants to play rugby can take part. Considering the exhibition character, the intensity of the match will not be high, so it will be an opportunity for all veterans, rugby fans, rugby parents, active players in the men’s and women’s competition to have fun and enjoy.
What kind of ambience and atmosphere can we expect
You can expect to have everything you need to enjoy rugby on and around the pitch. At any time you can buy a refreshing drink, a snack or a sweet. If you’re really hungry, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the grill. Also, if you want some rugby souvenir, t-shirt or jersey, you will be able to shop in the club house. In front of the club house, you will have the opportunity to sit down and watch the tournaments. Admittedly, you will not be able to follow the 7s on the field from there, you will have to walk to the field itself. But at the end of each match, you will be able to replenish yourself very quickly with the necessities, so that you can enjoy the rugby to the maximum.

For now, the forecast is that we will skip the rain on both days and it will be dry. But we advise you to be prepared with waterproof shoes, an umbrella or raincoat, as well as a cap or hat.
