Rugby 7s season start
For all fans of the Olympic version of rugby, the most interesting period of the year begins, when everyone switches to rugby 7 discipline. Tournaments of all levels are played all over Europe, but it seems to us that ours in Belgrade is the most massive in terms of the number of participants and national teams. A total of 25 selections will take part, 12 in the men’s competition and 13 in the women’s competition. As many as 20 different countries will take part in the tournament. When we add up the number of competitors, the number of refs, officials and volunteers in the tournament, we get the number of about 500 people who will actively participate in and around the tournament for two days. Truly an impressive figure. The Rugby Federation of Serbia has done an excellent job of preparatory activities, so we can absolutely enjoy great rugby.

Useful information for following the tournament
First of all, if you come to the tournament, be sure to bring a hat or cap, sunscreen and a refreshing drink. Very warm weather with strong sun is expected. The tournament lasts all day, there are no more roofs in the stands, so there will not be too much shade.
When entering the tournament, ask people from the security and the organization where the refreshment buffet is, where the entrance to the main court stands is, as well as where the entrance to the auxiliary field stands is. You will certainly not be able to move freely around the stadium complex, so ask about everything at the beginning.

Rugby Serbia National Team
The Eagles are in the group with Turkey, Montenegro and Cyprus this season. The group is not easy at all, three very uncertain matches await us. The Turkish national team played in the group above last year, and they are traditionally very good in rugby 7. Last year, we lost the game to Montenegro in an uncertain finale. While Cyprus is always traditionally strong in rugby 7. Serbia played all matches last year, so we can say that we are at the very top in terms of quality.
It would be good if our national team had great support from the fans, because this is an ideal opportunity to make a good result in rugby 7 as well. We have quite experienced players who play at a high level, plus there are a lot of young people who are very high quality and to whom every competition brings much-needed experience.

Conference 1 men - system of competitions and retrospectives
A total of 12 national teams are participating in the tournament, which are divided into three groups of 4 teams. At the end of the competition in the league part, a table is made where 8 first-placed teams qualify for the ¼ finals), while the remaining 4 teams will continue the competition in the fight for placement from 9 to 12. place. Two first-placed teams from each group will advance to the ¼ finals, with the two best third-placed teams.
The league part is on the program on Saturday, while the fights for placement are scheduled for Sunday. The grand final will be played on Sunday at the end of the program. The first-placed team will be placed in the rank above, while the last-placed team will be placed in the rank below.
In the men’s competition, the main favorites looking at last year’s results are Turkey, Monaco, Moldova, Austria, Andorra and host Serbia. We expect these six teams to be at the top. The week is such that we can never know in advance what the teams will look like, but we can assume. So don’t be surprised if one of the other teams scores great.
Conference 2 women - a system of competitions and retrospectives
13 national teams took part in the tournament, which were divided into 3 groups. At the end of the league part of the two first-placed teams from Group A, the first-placed team from Group B and C will achieve placement in the ½ finals. The first pair will be the winner of group A and the winner of group C, while the second pair will be the winner of group B and the second-placed team of group A.
The league part is on the program both days, with three games to be played on Sunday in the morning part of the program. This is followed by a fight for placement. The first-ranked team will be ranked higher. Since this is the last rank of the competition, there is no relegation.
