A large number of talented players
We must point out that we are quite surprised with the large number of talented players among U14s. Please note that we have included players born in 2007. and 2008. year. Also, we did not take into account the players from RC Celik, because we are making a list of players from Serbia. The list was concluded together with the second tournament of the Serbian Cup and represents our subjective view and analysis of players who we consider to be extremely talented.
Players need practice, they need to play as much as possible. There are a total of four Serbian Cup events in the spring season. That is quite enough for the official competition. However, that should not stop clubs from playing friendly matches as well as traveling to matches and tournaments abroad. Players need to play as much as possible in order to progress as much as possible in matches and tournaments.
Talent must develop into quality
Every player has to work on himself and he has to be an athlete. What it means? It means that he is used to the culture of coaching, that he is disciplined, that he respects the authority of the coach and the referee, as well. Players who have reached the age of U14s must already start training individually under the supervision of a coach. As we said in the text about U16s, a ready player in training gives the coach the opportunity to dedicate himself to rugby elements.
Teams that manage to develop talent into quality are well on their way to doing a great thing. Rugby is a sport that is very demanding, where it demands the maximum from each player. Certain players in the competition of U14s train individually and their strength and condition is at a high level. Such players make a difference on the field. It is an ideal thing for the coach of every team when he has physically ready players where he can dedicate himself to rugby in training.
TOP 10 players:
1. Pavle Pelva
Position:Center, wing
YOB: 2007.
Comparison: Brian O’Driscoll
We couldn’t stop seeing how he play. According to us, the player who showed the most. In the attack, the creator of almost all actions, the player who plays in the system. He had almost no missed tackles in defense. In the decisive moments, he gives his best. His movements in defense are impressive, it happened that in one attack of the opponent he tackles three or four players. In every contact, both in defense and attack, he won contest with opposing players. Team leader. Excellent physicality.
2. Aleksa Milanković
Position: Lock
YOB: 2007.
Comparason: Bakkies Botha
A dedicated player at both ends of the field. Extremely penetrating and effective in attack. It happens that he falls out of the system and loses concentration, but in most cases he is up to the task. He has the talent to always appear at the right moment to maximize his advantages in attack. That is why he is deadly for opponent defence. He is excellent in defense, he has to improve the foot work in contact, in order to win in the defense. The player must also work on the discipline.
3. Nemanja Adžić
Position: Lock, flanker
YOB: 2008.
Comparason: Michael Hooper
Extremely physically fit player, who trains individually and who has a huge perspective. Unfortunately, he played in the last tournament with an injury and did not show his full potential, but he did show up, and play very well. He is impassable in defense, extremely strong and aggressive in contact. Rarely does a duel lose. He needs to read the game better in attack. U14s rugby is much more complex. He needs to work harder on the elements that adorn scrum players. Attack around rucks, more use of space, offload.
4. Mateja Caran
Position: Center, wing
YOB: 2007.
Comparason: Jack Nowell
Another player who is seriously working on his physique and who has made huge progress in the winter preseason. We think that he is still not aware of his strength and that he is playing under a fear of making mistakes. We think of that primarily for the attack, where it is extremely penetrating, but in those penetrations he must use a tampon and a side step in order to be more effective. If he added offload to his arsenal, that would create an extremely complete player. He is very good in defense, he should work on keeping in the line of defense, as well as on positional withdrawal in the field when the opponent attacks.
5. Aleksandar Ćirić
Position: prop
YOB: 2007.
Поређење: Jason Leonard
He is always where he needs to be Great positioning in the game. A prop that actively participates in creating the game. Extremely effective in scrum. In the U14s, it is allowed to only push one meter, and there he demonstrates his skillset in scrum. In the attack, he must correct the position of the body, because he enters the contact high, the greater effect he would achieve to go lower, because it would be difficult for someone to tackle him down. In defense, he needs to drop lower, to use excellent positioning and leg work.
6. Andrej Markov
Position: wing
YOB: 2008.
Comparason: Damian Penaud
According to us, the fastest player we have seen in the U14s competition. Tall, fast, strong in changing directions, looking for space. He is very efficient in attack, he uses his speed in the right way. He is solid in defense, and that is the part of the game that he definitely has to improve. Physical strength is the same field that needs to work on. However, speed is the main impression on us, when it crashes and when it reaches full speed, it is a great challenge for the opponent’s defense.
7. Mateja Krčedinac
Position: prop, hooker
YOB 2007.
Comparason: Jamie George
A player who is not aware of his physical strength. It is our opinion that he uses only 20 percent of his strength. If he gained more self-confidence, we think he would be at a very high level. This applies to both defense and attack. Great in open play, great hands and positioning. He needs to work on contact, develop his skills and understand and be aware of his strengths. A very mobile player for his size, which is no small thing.
8. Uroš Vukašinović
Position: wing, fullback
YOB: 2008.
Comparason: Shane Williams
Very fast player, strong in contact, quick changes of direction. He has an excellent positioning in the Attack, where he makes the most of the space given to him. He has a great game with his hands, he needs to work harder on the development of the shoting. Positioning is a challenge, both in attack and defense. And positioning in a sport like rugby is essential. You simply have to find yourself in the best place on the field if you want to get the most out of the situation.
9. Aleksa Radojković
Позиција: Flyhalf, center
YOB: 2008.
Comparason: Sonny Bill Williams
A player who is born in 2008. with such physical strength and speed, is not something you see every day. Although his last tournament was his first, he showed a lot. Equally good in attack and defense. He found himself face to face with players who have been behind for several seasons. He is a player who needs experience, needs matches, needs practice as much as possible. Positioning and movement in attack and defense is definitely something that needs to be worked on.
10. Marko Andrijević
Position: center, wing
YOB: 2008.
Comparason: Gabin Villiere
We are amazed at how the player looked in attack. The endurance, breakthrough and strength of the player for whom this is the first tournament was incredible. A player who trains for a short time has definitely shown huge potential. Of course he lacks everything, and he needs to teach you, but he needs to pay special attention to discipline. As we parrots repeat, discipline is the key, discipline wins games.
