The past season was extremely interesting in the U12s competition. We had the opportunity to see really good and quality teams. There were some memorable games. But what caught our eye the most was the huge progress of the young prospects compared to the spring half-season. Guys at that age can seriously grow and completely change their game over the summer. A large number of players took rugby training very seriously and began to work individually, which can be seen from the games shown at the tournament.
In total, 6 teams participated in the competition last season. The RK Čelika team from Zenica performed out of competition. Otherwise, we have to praise their enthusiasm, which is extraordinary, because they managed to take part in all the tournaments. Their players gave back to them in the best possible way because they were the best throughout the season. They won all four tournaments. However, it was not easy for them, because they had to work really hard in the fight with our teams. In total, four teams were always at the top of the competition. In addition to Čelik, there are RK Rad, RK Dinamo 1954 and BRK Crvena Zvezda, who led a great fight. It is precisely from such games and matches that the most progress is made. Four teams playing equal games is something this level of rugby desperately needs.
Also participating in the competition were RK Dorćol 1998 and RK Žarkovo, who with their young teams were trying to catch up with the leading teams. The experience gained in the matches is worth its weight in gold for them as it will help them in the development of young players. We must also mention the RK Torpedo team from Petrovac na Mlava, which managed to form a team during the season, but will start its activities in the Winter League. These are approximately all the teams that have U14 selection in Serbia. We are looking forward to the start of the spring part of the season because several rugby development projects will be implemented this winter, so we can’t wait to see what the teams and players will look like. Also, according to the information we have received, it is quite possible that some of the former rugby centers will be reactivated.
As for the team of the season itself, we have to say that rugby 10 is played in the U14s, but that we still decided to see off the previous articles and make an ideal team with all 15 positions. In the end, it turned out that there were 5 players from Rad, Dinamo and Zvezda in the team, although we did not want to appear politically correct, but our goal was to put the best in the positions where we think they are or would be the best.
