U14s: RK Rad won the second tournament

Rugby in the U14s competition is extremely high quality and interesting. For several seasons in a row, we have uncertain matches played by at least three teams. A real treat for all rugby fans.

Great rugby in the U14s

Last week we had the opportunity to enjoy the great rugby demonstrated by the U14s. The second tournament of the Serbian Cup was on the program. A total of six teams took part. To remind, U14s are players born in 2007. and in 2008. year. A series of 4 tournaments is being played in the Serbian Cup. At the end of the competition, the teams are ranked according to the number of points won in the tournament.

General impression of the teams

RK Rad

A well-coordinated team with a lot of players who play at a high level on both sides of the field. The defense was at an extremely high level, as was the attack, as evidenced by the 13 tries given and 2 received. A team that plays in a system within which individuals come to the fore. Defense is played at a high level, rarely any of the players fall out of line. For now, a team that has not lost any game in two tournaments. If we could find the weak point of the team, we should dig in and struggle to find it. Our recommendation is to work more on the physical mass of the players.

RK Čelik

The team from Zenica participates in all tournaments of younger categories that are held this half-season. The boys from Zenica were extremely good at the last tournament. They were in the game against Rad until the very end of the game, a reversal could easily have happened. If there was more concentration in the finish of the match, Tas could have moved to the side of the team from Bosnia. The main characteristic of Celik’s U14s is physical strength, where the boys look strong and well-coordinated. The main problem is discipline, where the coach’s ideas on the field are not followed.

Rk Dinamo 1954

A team at the very top of the U14s competition. Physically quite respectable, a team that loves to play with the ball and that is extremely efficient. A lot of players have been playing together since the U12s where they were unstoppable. A young team with a couple of more experienced U14s definitely has high potential. The team from Pancevo needs to work harder on the organized defense and the system of the game in attack, where the penetrating players, which they certainly have, would come to the fore. Dinamo is disciplined and follows the instructions of the coach, so they will progress even more in the continuation of the season.

BRK Crvena Zvezda

Zvezda’s U14s are still far from the first three teams, but there is very little left to catch up with them. The main problem is the lack of players born in 2007. year. A young team that has yet to grow. We must point out that they are a very fast team, which is able to score against physically stronger teams, which they proved in this tournament. It is recommended that the game system be based more on fast players, as well as that the game in defense be improved. The team that, when it grows up, will stand out for the highest ranking.

RK Dorćol 1998

The effort and work is well worth it. The best example is the Dorcol team, which patiently builds and works with U14s. Most players who have been training for some time, from tournament to tournament, reduce the gap over the others. Being a young team, they still have a problem when playing with physically stronger teams, but over time that gap narrows. They need more experience, more games and tournaments to progress even more. As with some other teams, the biggest problem is discipline, but we believe that as time goes on and as the players mature, everything will come to the right place.

RK Torpedo Mlava

Debut performance in the U14s competition. And they did not disappoint at all. The boys were very good, they scored in all three games. They have shown character and can definitely be satisfied with the game shown. The team has potential, the children are big and fast, they just lack experience. We expect even better games in future tournaments. The team should work especially on the presentation of the ball in the ruck, on the support as well as on the defensive movements of the players.
